MECL-97A traditional Maine clambake at Foster’s is really a step back in time. A time before cell phones and the Internet (yes, we realize the irony of that last line). A time when friends and families enjoyed the simple pleasures of good food, good drink and good fun.

On any given day or night, you’ll still see guests enjoying the pickup game of horseshoes or shuffleboard in the back. Corn-filled grins and butter coated chins are never frowned upon. Bursts of belly-aching laughter echo throughout the Pavilion. And the kids working their first summer jobs join the veterans who come back every year like clockwork.

Our History

In 1951, Bill Foster of York Harbor, Maine, offered the use of his land to the Civic Club of York for a sportsmen's show. As part of the agreement, he also put on an old-fashioned Maine clambake to help the club earn money. And from this Foster’s Downeast Clambake was born

Foster's Downeast Clambakes specializes in creative corporate catering. In fact, we've provided corporate catering from Bangor to Boston to Boca Raton. Why not take the stress out your next event and replace it with the fun and good times that come with a great venue, a fantastic atmosphere and food that will have people raving for years to come.

Your Choice: Clambake Menu and/or Hors D'ouevres

Discover the unique experience in seafood dining and seafood catering. With plenty of room to spare, our Foster's Pavilion can handle parties of up to 450 for a sit down feast or a tasty selection of stationed or passed hors d'ouevres. Or if you'd rather, we can cater a New England clam bake at a location of your choice. We have created a mobile version of our special cooking process to give you the same world-famous delicious lobster and seafood dining experience, no matter the setting.

Your Place for a Unique Setting

We offer our Pavilion to rent featuring multi-function kitchen facilities to accommodate the caterer of your choice and bar service, including a bartender for every 65 people. The Pavilion is heated and air conditioned and working fireplaces add to our warm and inviting setting. For generous seating, buffet style tables are offered with other styles available upon request. Wait staff is also available upon request. We'll even hook you up with music to ease the hassle of added party details.
